Privacy policy
BRILO (ABN 92 861 375 892), run by Amory Csiky-Alvarez as a sole trader, builds marketing and lead-management systems for solar and battery retailers in New South Wales and Victoria, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, and your choices. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). "We" and "us" means BRILO.
Who we collect information about
- Visitors to this website, and people who book a call with us.
- Businesses we talk to about our services, and our clients (retailers and their staff) who use the BRILO platform.
- Homeowners who ask one of our clients for information or a quote, for example through a Facebook or Instagram lead form.
What we collect
This website has no contact forms and no advertising or analytics trackers, and our fonts are hosted on our own servers. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security. If you book a call, Calendly collects the details you enter and shares them with us.
Businesses and clients: names, work email and phone, business details, notes from our conversations, and, for platform users, a record of what you do in the platform.
Homeowners: what you submit in the retailer's form, usually your name, phone number, email, suburb, postcode and state, and your answers to its questions (for example your power bill, roof type or whether you already have solar), plus any photos you choose to send (power bill, roof, meter box). When a lead comes from Meta we receive it from Meta with the form and ad it came from. We also keep a record of the calls, messages and emails about your enquiry.
Why we use it
- To talk to businesses about our services and to provide them to our clients.
- To pass a homeowner's enquiry to the retailer they contacted, so the retailer can call, text or email them about it, and to help the retailer follow up.
- To measure which campaigns work, in aggregate.
We do not sell personal information, and we never share a homeowner's enquiry with any retailer other than the one they contacted.
Calls, SMS and email
Homeowners are contacted about the enquiry they made, by the retailer they made it to, with their consent given in the form. Every SMS and email says who it is from and how to stop: reply STOP to any SMS, or use the unsubscribe link in any email. Once you opt out, you are not contacted again through BRILO by that channel, and we apply the opt-out to email and SMS alike.
Who can see it
The retailer you contacted and their staff, and BRILO staff who support them. Service providers process information on our behalf: Supabase (database and file storage, hosted in Sydney), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Twilio (SMS and calls), Meta (lead forms), Google Workspace (our email) and Calendly (bookings). Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia; we choose providers with strong security and contractual privacy commitments.
How long we keep it, and security
We keep enquiry information for as long as the retailer needs it to handle the enquiry and meet its legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. Access is limited by account and by company: each retailer can only see its own enquiries, and photos are stored privately.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, including information received through Facebook or Instagram. Email amory@brilo.com.au with the subject "Privacy request", your name, and the email or phone number you used. We confirm and act on requests within 30 days.
